Another terrible ruling by the so-called liberal Supreme Court, which ruled 5-3 Wednesday to block a court order that had allowed a transgender boy to use the boys’ bathroom at a Virginia high school.
While the court’s order has no effect on any other case, it does stop Gavin Grimm, a transgender man from using the boys’ bathroom at his high school.
The case went to the Supreme Court after the school board ruled that students must use restrooms “corresponding biological genders.”
A Fourth Circuit, in Richmond, Virginia ruled the school board’s measure unconstitutional, and the case wound up in the Supreme Court.
Justice Stephen G. Breyer joining the court’s more conservative members and aid that this would preserve the status quo until the court decided whether to hear the case.
